Passed away peacefully on Thursday 20th November aged 88 years. John will be very sadly missed by all family and his many friends and acquaintances.

Funeral service to take place on Thursday 11th December at 11.30am, Holy Cross Church, Haltwhistle followed by interment in Haltwhistle Cemetery.

No flowers by family request, donations if so desired in memory of John are for Tynedale Rugby Club Colts and Haltwhistle Cricket Club.

Whilst not having seen John in many years, i owe my career in the north east as a land agent to him.
He employed me in his family firm in Haltwhistle straight from university where i worked from 1982 to 1989 before going to Hexham branch.
He was a lovely man who also welcomed to Featherstone Castle for a regular family Sunday lunch.
They were happy days.
I also enjoyed my time with the Cricket Club acting as secretary for several years and enjoying success with the 2nd XI, hence this donation.
